State Highway 2 between Nuhaka and Mōrere, north of Wairoa, is now OPEN following a slip in the early hours of this morning.
Traffic management remains in place.

State Highway 2 Wairoa to Gisborne OPEN
State Highway 2 Matawai to Ormond CLOSED
State Highway 50 Tikokino to Ongaonga CLOSED
State Highway 35 Gisborne to Ruatoria CLOSED. Scheduled to OPEN at 0730
State Highway 5 Napier – Taupō Road OPEN
State Highway 2 Wairoa to Napier OPEN
Crews will be out this morning at other sites around Tairāwhiti and Hawke’s Bay assessing the state highway network and other current closures following further heavy rain overnight.
People should continue to keep an eye on the Waka Kotahi Journey Planner website(external link) for the latest information on road conditions, as short-notice closures are a possibility while the rain continues.
