The NZ Transport Agency advises that the SH1 St Marks Road southbound on-ramp will be closed this weekend from 6:30am Saturday 26 until 5am Sunday 27 September. The closure is required to complete a mass concrete pour for the retaining walls on the new on-ramp. A new two-lane on-ramp will open in mid 2010.

The closure is required to complete a mass concrete pour for the retaining walls on the new on-ramp. A new two–lane on-ramp will open in mid 2010.
The on-ramp will eventually connect to the new four-lane southbound motorway bridge, being built as part of Stage 1 of the Newmarket Connection: Viaduct Replacement Project.
Motorists leaving Newmarket to head south onto SH1 are advised to join the motorway at Greenlane via Great South Road. This detour will be clearly signposted.
