Commuter traffic heading through central Wellington can expect delays following a serious crash near Basin Reserve this morning.
The incident, reported around 6:15 this morning, has blocked two northbound lanes on State Highway 1 north of the Adelaide Road intersection.
Police are at the scene with the Serious Crash Unit to conduct a scene investigation.
One northbound lane remains open. However, traffic queues and delays are expected until the crash scene is cleared.
Drivers must take extra care when travelling north on State Highway 1 around the Basin Reserve and can expect travel delays.
