Motorists travelling towards Hamilton or Rotorua via Takitimu Drive and the Route K toll road this month are being urged to drive with extra care and expect minor delays, as contractors carry out major pavement repair works.
January 19 and are expected to be finished by 7pm Friday January 23.
The hours of work will be from 6am to 7pm each day.
The NZ Transport Agency says Route K will remain open, however the off ramp exit point will be moved 300m north towards Bethlehem and the off ramp surface may be uneven at times.
Stop/go traffic management and a 50km/h speed restriction will be in place on that stretch of Route K and the neighbouring northbound sections of Tamatea Arikinui Drive (SH2) and Fifteenth Avenue.
The works are weather dependent and may be postponed a week if necessary.
The Transport Agency wishes to thank drivers for their patience and Tauranga City Council for their cooperation, while these works are underway.
