The NZ Transport Agency (NZTA) advises that road works are about to start in Te Kuiti township, on State Highway 30, and some delays are expected.
The works involve the reconstruction and resurfacing of a 1500 metre stretch of SH30 Waitete Street in the industrial area of Te Kuiti, just south of the main shopping area. The works also include the upgrading of the northern footpath and curbs on both sides of the work area in SH30 Waitete Street.
The work is programmed to start this week and is expected to take approximately eight weeks to complete.
NZTA Hamilton State Highway Manager Kaye Clark says the works will involve stop/go traffic control and minor delays are expected.
Motorists are asked to observe the directions of on-site personnel.
These works are weather dependant and may be delayed if adverse weather prevents the works being carried out as programmed.
