|

Stop/go traffic management will be in place at the Pakipaki roundabout from next week as crews make improvements to the road.

The work, on State Highway 2 Hawke’s Bay Expressway between the roundabout and Miriama Road, will initially involve the installation of bricks and planting behind the existing kerb.

Crews will begin this work next Monday (28 August) and are expecting to complete the work by Friday 8 September.

A second phase of work, scheduled to take place between Monday 11 September and Wednesday 13 September, will see bricks installed in the raised pedestrian traffic island on the state highway.

  • Between 28 August and 8 September: Stop/go traffic management will be in place for northbound traffic between the roundabout and Miriama Road, 7am to 5pm Monday to Friday.
  • Between 11 and 13 September: A road closure will be in place for northbound traffic between the roundabout and Miriama Road, 7am to 5pm.
  • On the 14 and 15 of September: Stop/go will resume for northbound traffic between 7am and 5pm for project cleanup.

During the closure period, access will remain for Pakipaki school and for residents. In addition, the southbound lane will remain open during these works.

Other road users will be detoured onto Railway Road South and Longlands Road.

Waka Kotahi wishes to thank motorists for taking the detour while these works are underway.
