A section of State Highway 29 on the Matamata side of the Kaimais will be down to single lane access for most of today following a truck accident last night.
The NZ Transport Agency says contractors are working as quickly as they can to remove the vehicle while ensuring the safety of the crew and traffic in the area.
State Highway Manager Brett Gliddon says at this stage the NZTA expects the work to be completed around 3.00pm this afternoon. In the meantime, single lane access is still available through this section of SH29 throughout the day.
"We'd like to ask motorists to take care when travelling through this area during this period and to expect delays. There will be traffic controls and signage in place. We thank people for their patience while this work is being done."
