The NZ Transport Agency says planned lane changes on Auckland’s Northwestern Motorway (SH16) have been delayed due to poor weather.
Motorists had earlier been advised to expect lane changes from Tuesday 2 June when driving westbound because of ongoing work as part of the Causeway Upgrade Project.
Revised dates for the lane changes will be issued when weather conditions permit.
Separate closures to other parts of the Northwestern motorway during Queen’s Birthday weekend are still going ahead.
The motorway will be closed in both directions between Te Atatu and Lincoln Roads from 8pm Saturday 30 May to 8am Sunday 31 May. This closure is to connect the newly built sections of Henderson Creek Bridge to the existing city and westbound bridges as part of the wider Lincoln Road Interchange Upgrade. The concrete used to connect the structures will take approximately 12 hours to pour and gain sufficient strength and vibrations from passing vehicles can impact on this process.
