Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency is advising motorists in Gisborne to plan ahead for temporary changes to the road layout on Awapuni Road/State Highway 35 (SH35) between the intersections of Stanley Road and Grey Street, starting from Tuesday 5 to Friday 15 October 2021.
Altered lane layouts and a temporary speed restriction of 30km/h will be in place between the hours of 6am and 6pm during this period, to allow for manhole cover replacement, sign installation and vegetation works.
Access in and out of Roberts Road will be closed onto the highway. Residents will need to use Salisbury Road.
Motorists are advised to plan ahead and allow extra time for their journey.
The work is dependent on various factors, including weather, and may be completed early or extended at short notice.
