Ohauiti Road will be closed overnight at the intersection of Welcome Bay Road as part of on the New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA) project to signalise the Welcome Bay and Maungatapu roundabouts.
The road will be closed overnight from 7pm Thursday evening 6 November to 6am Friday morning 7 November to allow trenching to be carried out across Ohauiti Rd. This work is weather dependant and if postponed will be carried out from 7pm Sunday 9 November to 6am Monday 10 November.
Kevin Reid, senior project manager for NZTA says motorists and residents should take the SH 29/Poike Rd route to avoid this work.
He also reminded those people who would like regular updates about construction as a guide to choosing the easiest route to use during construction to sign up by sending an email to roundaboutupdate@beca.com.
Mr. Reid thanked the local community for their ongoing patience, and asked motorists to stick to the sign posted speed limits, taking special care when travelling through the construction site.
