Upgrades continue at several locations on Northlands state highway network, and the NZ Transport Agency reminds road users of the need to be aware of some changes in highway layouts at those sites, and observe restricted speed limits for safe travel.
The sites are:
State Highway 1
- Whangarei: Improvements through the city from SH1/SH14 intersection to SH1/Selwyn Avenue
- Moerewa: construction of traffic islands
- Waitiki Landing-Ohaeawai and Ohaeawai-Springs Flat: roadmarking
- Te Ahu Ahu Road, Ohaeawai: safety upgrade
- McLeods Flat: guardrail improvements
- Water cutting at various sites
State Highway 10
- Pakaraka to Awanui: roadmarking
State Highway 11
- Lily Pond: guardrail repairs
State Highway 12
- Maungaturoto township: repairs and improvements continue
- Rotu Bridge, north of Dargaville: guardrail improvements
- Water cutting at various sites
State Highway 14
- Mangarama: safety works at Paradise Rd
- Tangowahine Bridge: safety-related work
