The NZ Transport Agency is advising drivers to avoid a section of Auckland's Southern Motorway (State Highway 1) after a crash closed both northbound lanes near the Takanini interchange late this morning.
Although northbound traffic is being diverted off the motorway at Takanini, there is a considerable queue and the NZTA says drivers can expect significant delays.
The crash, north of the interchange, involves a car and motor-cycle.
Southbound lanes on the motorway are open and operating normally.
