Further safety work on the Nevis Bluff on State Highway 6 about halfway between Cromwell and Queenstown gets underway next Monday 23 November.
The NZ Transport Agency (NZTA) says motorists can expect delays of up to 10 minutes between 8:00am and 5:00pm, Monday to Friday. No work will be carried out on Saturday or Sunday. Weather permitting the work should be completed by Monday the 30 November
Project Manager John Jarvis says the work is part of the NZTA’s ongoing safety and monitoring at the Nevis Bluff and this particular job includes abseil inspections and helicopter sluicing. Given the nature of the work traffic delays are unavoidable and the NZTA regrets any inconvenience these may cause road users.
The NZTA will provide motorists with regular updates on this work. Further information on this project is available at www.highwayinfo.govt.nz(external link).
