The NZ Transport Agency (NZTA) advises that night works will be starting next week at the State Highway 1/3 intersection of Kahikatea Drive, Lorne Street, and Ōhaupō Road in Hamilton City.
The night works are programmed to start on Monday September 28 and are expected to take three weeks to complete. During that time work will be carried out each day between the hours of 7pm and 6am.
The night works will enable NZTA to carry out drainage work. The works are being carried out at night to minimise disruption to commuter traffic.
NZTA started construction to upgrade the signalised SH1/3 Kahikatea Drive/Ōhaupō Road/Lorne Street intersection in July and construction is expected to be completed by mid December.
NZTA State Highway Manager Hamilton, Kaye Clark, says the upgrade will improve traffic capacity by incorporating free left-turn lanes, longer right turn bays, and enhanced pedestrian and cyclist facilities.
Some minor delays are expected during these works. NZTA apologises for any inconvenience caused.
These night works are weather dependant and may be postponed if the weather is unsuitable.
