The job may take more than a week. Drivers heading to and from the Bay of Plenty can use SH1-SH29 over the Kaimai road.

Night work is being carried out this week to strengthen the road near Graham’s bridge. Stop/go signs will be needed to get traffic through the site. The repair work is expected to take up to two weeks complete, and is subject to having some long awaited fine spells of good weather for a change.
People using this route at night should expect delays of up to 10 minutes and if you are travelling a long distance which includes this section of SH2, you could consider using an alternatively route.
During the day, the road will be open to two-way traffic as normal, however speed restrictions will be in place. The NZ Transport Agency asks people to drive safely through the work site.
SH1, Waikato Expressway - near Hampton Downs
Work continues this week to upgrade the wire rope barrier in the middle of the Expressway, to the south of the Hampton Downs interchange. This work affects only one of the two north-bound lanes.
