The NZ Transport Agency advises it will be carrying out maintenance work on SH1 at the southern entry to Whangarei on Monday night (August 3).
Maintenance crews will be smoothing the surface of SH1 just south of Murdoch Crescent through to Kendon Place, by milling the top surface and replacing it with asphalt.
There will be manual traffic control on site to help with traffic flows for the duration of the work, which is expected to begin at 7pm and be completed by 5am on Tuesday August 4.
Because of the urban nature of this stretch of SH1 the NZ Transport Agency asks motorists to adhere to the temporary speed limits and to slow down well before the work site to reduce braking noises for those living nearby.
