The New Zealand Transport Agency advises the Ngāruawāhia southbound on-ramp on State Highway 1 will be closed overnight on Sunday 20 October and Monday 21 October.
The closure will allow for our contractors to complete pavement repair works on the ramp.
Acting Waikato System Manager Rob Campbell says the on-ramp will be closed between 6pm and 6am across both nights, to minimise disruption to traffic.
“Detours will be in place for vehicles travelling to Cambridge and Hamilton via State Highway 1B and Great South Road.
“Heavy vehicles will need to use alternative routes, via State Highway 1B to Cambridge, and State Highway 1B, Gordonton Road and Wairere Drive before re-joining State Highway 1 at Avalon Drive, for Hamilton.”
The works will be weather dependent, and Mr Campbell encourages motorists to plan ahead and allow additional time for their journeys.
“The Transport Agency thanks motorists for their patience.”
