The Transport Agency says the Beaumont Bridge on State highway 8 between Milton and Alexandra is now open.
continuous 36 hours closure had been on the cards from 7am yesterday, Wednesday 13 May, so a challenging job involving the replacement of a load bearing beam within the bridge structure could be carried out.
None of the potential issues that could have been encountered with this work eventuated, and the job was completed in just 12 hours, enabling the bridge to be re-opened at 7pm last night, 13 May.
The Transport Agency would like to thank road users for their patience while this important work was carried out.
