The NZ Transport Agency wishes to advise motorists that due to circumstances beyond our control, the southbound lanes on SH1 between Orewa Interchange and Silverdale Interchange will be closed tonight, 19 July 2010 for repair work.
The work will be carried out at night between the hours of 11.30pm and 5am, due to reduced traffic volumes and to minimise disruption to road users.
Cars/Motorcycles will be diverted off the motorway at Grand Drive, through Orewa via SH17 coming back on at the Silverdale Interchange.
Trucks will diverted at Puhoi, via SH17 coming back on at the Silverdale Interchange.
Northbound traffic will not be affected.
All work is weather dependant. If it can not be carried out on the date specified above, it will be carried out on the next available evening.
These works are essential to ensure the motorway is kept in good and safe condition for all road users.
