The NZ Transport Agency says there is heavy congestion northbound on the Southern Motorway (State Highway 1) through the CBD due to a Police incident in St Marys Bay.
Two northbound lanes approaching the Auckland Harbour Bridge and one southbound lane are closed.
The Transport Agency says the incident is affecting mainly northbound traffic and a slow moving queue of vehicles extends from St Marys Bay to the Greenlane interchange.
The Transport Agency says the choices for those drivers heading north include using the Northwestern and Hobsonville Motorways (SH16 & 18), joining SH1 northbound at the Curran Street on-ramp, or delaying their journey.
