Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency is advising motorists to expect significant delays on State Highway 2 northbound to Petone due to a slip that has closed the left lane, and to consider taking an alternative route.
Crews are working to clear the slip but it is likely to significantly impact peak traffic time due to the safety risks involved and the need to get particular equipment to the site.
Traffic is already congested, with northbound queues currently back to the Ngauranga Interchange.
Waka Kotahi advises motorists to avoid the area if possible and consider using State Highway 1 and State Highway 58 as alternative routes.
