Further safety improvement work will be carried out early next week at the Nevis Bluff above State Highway 6 about half way between Cromwell and Queenstown.
NZ Transport Agency Project Manager John Jarvis says the work starting on Monday 28 November is part of on-going safety and monitoring of the Nevis Bluff and involves abseil inspections and helicopter sluicing to remove any loose debris. Road user safety is paramount while this work is carried out, so some hold ups for motorists are unavoidable.
Delays of up to 10 minutes delays can be expected between 8:00am and 5:00pm from Monday 28 November through to Friday 9 December. The NZTA regrets any inconvenience these may cause.
