The maximum limit for a road user charges (RUC) licence purchased online will be removed from 25 May 2013 says Celia Patrick, the NZ Transport Agency’s (NZTA) group manager of Access and Use.
Ms Patrick says customers reported that the maximum purchase limit was an inconvenient barrier and meant they sometimes had to carry out multiple transactions to get the amount of RUC they wanted to purchase.
“The RUC team reconsidered the previous thinking around the maximum limit. We agreed the benefits for customers outweighed any issues that having no maximum limit might have for the NZTA, and decided to remove it.
“From 25 May, customers will be able to pay by credit card or through POLi (Pay OnLine – directly via internet banking) to purchase as much RUC as they’d like,” says Ms Patrick.
