The NZ Transport Agency (NZTA) advises that road works are scheduled to begin next week on State Highway 27 in Matamata, and some travel delays are expected.
The road works will take approximately seven weeks to complete, and will affect the Firth Street section of SH27 from the roundabout at Peria Road to Matamata College.
NZTA Regional Director, Harry Wilson, says the Matamata works are part of NZTA’s routine maintenance schedule to rebuild and strengthen sections of New Zealand’s state highways to ensure they are kept to a suitable standard.
The works will be under stop/go traffic control at times, and a 30 km/h speed restriction will be in place through the work area.
Mr Wilson asks motorists to please take care and allow some extra time for their journey while the works are underway.
