Important information for drivers.
Lower North Island
- Two weeks of night closures for the Terrace Tunnel begin this Sunday for lighting upgrades.
- Night closures also get underway on State Highway Remutaka Hill from this Sunday night. Dates for planned closures for the second half of the year have also been confirmed.
- Regular uses of State Highway 1, Tawa to Grenada, need to be planning ahead for night closures beginning on Monday.
- In Wairarapa, the Tauwharenīkau Bridge on State Highway 53 will remain closed to traffic 24/7 until its repairs are completed.
- Looking ahead, Whitby residents and regular users of SH58, Paremata to Pāuatahanui, need to plan for maintenance closures from 26 May.
Top of the South Island
- There will be overnight closures of State Highway 60 from 19 May to 31 May at the Ruby Bay Bypass for ongoing safety barrier works.
- The Newton River Bridge on State Highway 6 in the Upper Buller Gorge will be closed for essential bridge deck repairs.
