Planned state highway roadworks over the coming week.
Important information for drivers
North Island
- Two weeks of night closures are coming for State Highway 2, Remutaka Hill, at the start of September. This is for planned maintenance work and the repair of a slump site on the Featherston side of the Hill.
- Transmission Gully project works will be ongoing during the week between the Transmission Gully interchange and the Pāuatahanui roundabout. Residents and regular users will need to plan ahead and adjust their travel plans. A local road detour will be available via Waitangirua interchange, Te Ara Kapehu, Navigation Drive and Joseph Banks Drive.
- There will be a westbound lane closure on Sunday between 8 am and 4 pm for surfacing works.
- On Monday night, there will be an eastbound lane closure from 8 pm to 4 am for landscaping works.
- Landscaping works will continue on the route on Tuesday night, 8 pm to 4 am with an eastbound lane closure.
- On Wednesday and Thursday nights there will be a stop/go in place near Bradey Rd from 7 pm to 5 am for project works
South Island
- Slip repairs continue on State Highway 6, Whangamoa. Stop/Go traffic management will be in place 7 am to 5 pm daily. Drivers must follow temporary speed restrictions and can expect short travel delays of up to 10 minutes.
- Travellers going through Picton need to be aware of ongoing work on Dublin Street. A closure is in place until approximately March 2025, while a new overbridge and other infrastructure is built. More details can be found on the Marlborough District Council website.
