The details below outline the main planned state highway roadworks occurring in the greater Wellington region and the top of the South Island over the coming week (30 April 2023).
Other important information for road users:
- Regular users of State Highway 58 between the Hutt Valley and Pauatahanui need to be getting ready for a full weekend closure from 28 April to 1 May. This will see an increase in traffic using State Highway 1 and State Highway 2.
- There is a changed traffic layout on local roads for travellers using the Picton ferries.
- Nelson drivers need to plan for a couple of local maintenance projects,
- There will be resurfacing works on State Highway 6, Whakatu Drive, between the Annesbrook Drive and Quarantine Road roundabouts. Nightworks are planned for Sunday night, 8 pm to 6 am. There will be a northbound lane closure with local detours in place.
