The NZ Transport Agency advises motorists that there will line marking work at three locations on State Highway 1 between Oteha Valley Road and the Orewa Interchange, during the next two weeks.
The NZ Transport Agency advises motorists that there will line marking work at three locations on State Highway 1 between Oteha Valley Road and the Orewa Interchange, during the next two weeks.
Speed restrictions will be in place so that the work can be carried out safely, and there will also be a temporary closure of the BP Service Centre at Dairy Flat for a short time during one night of work.
Line marking the service centre’s on and off ramps is scheduled for Wednesday 17 March. The work will be done after midnight for approximately three hours. During this time there will be no access to or from the service centre and it will be closed during this time. The NZTA says drivers travelling north on SH1 should have enough fuel to get to the next available service stations in Warkworth or Wellsford.
The other locations for line marking are southbound between Grand Drive and Silverdale on Wednesday, 10 March, and northbound between Oteha Valley Road and Silverdale, scheduled for Sunday and Monday, 14 and 15 March.
To cause the least disruption to road users, the work will be done at night between 8.00pm and 6.00am when traffic volumes are light. During this time, the NZTA asks that drivers take extra care passing through the work sites, and adhere to the sign posted speed limit. Speeds will be restricted to 30km/h, and traffic moved to the motorway shoulder.
“Line marking is an important part of our maintenance programme to ensure the motorway is kept in a good and safe condition for everyone using it,” said the NZTA’s State Highways manager for Auckland, Tommy Parker.
All work is weather dependant. If it can not be carried out on the date specified above, it will be done on the next available evening.
