The Kopu-Hikuai Road will be closed to traffic for three hours from 8pm, Monday November 10.
The road - SH25A- will be closed to all but residents at both ends, so a crane can be used to retrieve a vehicle involved in a fatal crash late last month.
The NZ Transport Agency advises travellers to consider rescheduling all non-urgent travel plans.
A detour will be in place however it will add approximately 90 minutes to the journey time.
The detour route will involve SH26 south to Paeroa then on to SH2 to Waihi then on to SH25 to Whangamata.
The Transport Agency thanks motorists for their patience and understanding.
