NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA) is asking people to take extra care if travelling on the Auckland Harbour Bridge this evening, with high winds forecast between 7pm and 9pm.
There are currently reduced speed limits and some lane closures in place.
There is also a low risk of wind gusts reaching 90km/h, which would trigger a Red wind alert. If wind gusts reach 90km/h, all lanes will be closed. This helps keep everyone safe and protects the bridge structure from possible vehicle impacts.
Motorists are urged to drive to the conditions and stay within their lane while travelling across the bridge.
Drivers of high sided vehicles and motorcyclists are advised to avoid the Auckland Harbour Bridge and use the western ring route on State Highways 16 and 18.

NZTA thanks road users for their patience and understanding while we work to keep everyone safe.
