Drivers using State Highway 2 over the Harbour Bridge in Tauranga are advised to expect minor delays as guardrail repairs will be undertaken on Wednesday night, says the NZ Transport Agency (NZTA).
Contractors will close one lane at the eastern end of the Tauranga Harbour Bridge to traffic heading towards Tauranga so the maintenance work can be undertaken, says NZ Transport Agency’s Bay of Plenty State Highways Manager, Brett Gliddon.
“The work will require a short section of the bridge to be reduced to one lane, the lanes to Mount Maunganui from the City will not be affected.”
The works are weather dependent, and are planned to take place on the night of Wednesday 17 July from 7.30pm. Wet weather may delay the works to the next fine night. Signage will guide traffic through the work area and a temporary speed restriction will be in place for the safety of workers and drivers throughout this work.
Mr Gliddon says the work has been specifically scheduled for the night to minimise the impact on drivers.
