The NZ Transport Agency is advising that there will be a lane closure Gladstone Road Bridge on Monday 4 March between 9.30am and 11.30am.
This is to enable contractors to finish installing the final steel balustrade hand rail.
Tairawhiti Roads General Manager Dave Hadfield says this last section of handrail needed rectifying and was not finished in time to be installed during the previous lane closure.
“We want to say a big thank you to the public for bearing with us over the last few months. We know these delays have been frustrating, so we appreciate that drivers have remained patient,” Mr Hadfield says.
Motorists can expect traffic to build up on Wainui Road, Customhouse Street and Childers Road, and should allow an extra 10 minutes for their journey on Monday morning.
