Motorists planning to travel through State Highway 1 at Rangiriri on Wednesday and Thursday nights are advised that due to the on-going construction of the Rangiriri section of the Waikato Expressway, the highway will be reduced to a single lane and will be under stop/go manual traffic management, says the NZ Transport Agency.
This night time work will commence on Wednesday night, 5 March, from 8.30pm to 6.00am from Plantation Road to Glen Murray Road along SH1, so maintenance work can be undertaken to the temporary concrete barriers.
The work will continue again on Thursday night, 6 March, from Plantation Road to Te Whereo Road, with the road reduced to one lane while the concrete barriers are shifted.
A 30km/h temporary speed limit will be in place while this work is being undertaken. The work is being done at night to minimise disruption to motorists.
