A series of detours and lane closures will be in place on the Te Rapa section of the Waikato Expressway this month, as contractors work on the final seal and road marking.
The NZ Transport Agency says the work begins on October 12 and is expected to last approximately four weeks.
Detours– either north-bound or south-bound – will be in place for night works from Sunday October 12 to Thursday October 16 and again from Sunday November 2 to Thursday November 6.
The two-week period between those dates will see day works carried out without the need for detours but there will be speed restrictions and lane closures for north-bound vehicles.
Motorists should expect minor delays, with travel times affected by just a few minutes while the work is underway.
The work programme is subject to weather conditions and may be extended, but there will be no work on weekends including Labour weekend.
The Transport Agency thanks motorists for their patience while the work is underway.
