State Highway 2 Hawke’s Bay Expressway between Evenden Road and Pākōwhai Road will be closed overnight tomorrow Wednesday 11 December, from 8pm to 4am.
During the closure, crews will be making urgent guardrail repairs.
A signposted detour will be in place during this closure, for all traffic, including heavy vehicles. Traffic will be detoured down Pākōwhai Road and Evenden Road. The detour will be in reverse for northbound vehicles.
Please allow for an additional 5 minutes journey time.
Emergency services and over-dimensional (OD) loads with permits will be escorted through the closure if required.
If weather delays the works, the contingency is Thursday 12 December, 8pm to 4am.
NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA) thanks all road users for their cooperation in taking the detour, and by carrying out the work over one night, hopes to minimise disruption to travellers.
