The NZ Transport Agency advises motorists to expect delays of around 20 minutes when travelling on State Highway 29 (SH29) over the Kaimai Range today and tomorrow, as contractors work on a major road rehabilitation.
A 30km/h speed restriction and stop/ go traffic management will be in place today (Wednesday April 22) to allow contractors to seal a 360m stretch of highway near Soldiers Road.
Speed restrictions and traffic management will be in place again tomorrow as there will be a lot of loose chip on the road following the sealing work.
As travel through the site will be slow moving, motorists are advised to consider using an alternative route such as State Highway 2 (SH2) via Waihi or delaying unnecessary travel.
The Transport Agency apologies to motorists for any inconvenience and thanks them for their patience as these important works are carried out.
