The NZ Transport Agency is advising motorists to expect delays on Gladstone Road Bridge between 9pm on Thursday 8 August and 3am on Friday 9 August, while contractors undertake line marking improvements.
The work will see new line marking to allow for a wider painted safety zone between the new shared path and the CBD-bound driving lane.
The orange safety hit posts will be removed which will enable regular sweeping of the road to ensure it remains clear of debris.
Regional Transport Systems Manager Oliver Postings advises motorists to allow extra time for their journey on Thursday night.
“One lane of Gladstone Road Bridge will be closed, with traffic management in place including stop/go and a temporary speed restriction.
“We’d like to thank motorists for their patience and understanding.”
A decision on a handrail for the shared path is still pending.
