20 May update
Due to poor weather – tonight’s closure of SH25 for maintenance will not go ahead. The team expect to resume work tomorrow night.

NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi advises that State Highway 30 (SH30) between Onepū Spring Road and Military Road near Otakiri will close on Monday 13 May between 6am and 6.30pm for resurfacing on the road near the railway track.
A detour will be in place for all traffic in both directions via State Highway 34 through Kawerau and then rejoining SH30. This detour is expected to add up to 10 minutes to journey times.
Work on the Tarawera River bridge walkway will be put on hold for the day to allow the detoured traffic to travel through Kawerau.
NZTA thanks people for their patience while this important maintenance work is carried out.
