UPDATE 10:15am
State Highway 3 north of Stratford has now reopened following this morning’s earlier crash.
The stretch of SH3 closed between Radnor Road and Lombard Street, following a collision. A detour was in place. NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi is reminding road users to drive to the conditions and expect delays while congestion eases through the area.
7:45am:
State Highway 3 is currently closed just north of Stratford, following a crash this morning.
The stretch of SH3 is closed between Radnor Road and Lombard Street and a detour is in place.
Emergency services are at the scene.
Southbound traffic will be detoured left onto Beaconsfield road , then right onto SH43 and turn left back onto SH3.
The northbound detour is in reverse.
NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi advises people to expect delays and allow extra time for their journey.
