State Highway 58 is currently blocked to eastbound traffic following a crash around one pm.

Delays have now eased at the crash site.
However, road crews are continuing to clear the scene and assess barrier damage. Drivers must continue to take care when travelling through the area.
A car has collided with safety barriers, near the intersection with Mount Cecil Rd.
The eastbound lane is currently blocked and drivers travelling from Pāuatahunui to Lower Hutt can expect delays until the crash scene is cleared. There is currently heavy congestion on this route.
Drivers travelling through the area should exercise caution and follow instructions from emergency services and road crews.
With holiday traffic volumes expected to increase in the lead up to Christmas, drivers are urged to drive to the conditions, watch their following distances, pass with care, and obey posted speed limits.
