Coromandel State Highway 25 between Tairua and Whangamata now open

|

The NZ Transport Agency is advising motorists that State Highway 25 between Tairua and Whangamata in the Duck Creek area is now open.

The road was closed yesterday after heavy rain caused flooding.

The Transport Agency’s Regional Performance Manager Karen Boyt says contractors have been out in force in the Coromandel.

“The water has subsided enough for the road to open but there is still some minor flooding so motorists should avoid the area if possible.

“Care still needs to be taken around the Waikato and Coromandel as the clean-up from yesterday’s heavy rain continues.”

The wet weather has caused some potholes to form in the Waikato and Coromandel areas. Transport Agency contractors are currently carrying out repairs.

If motorists see large potholes or other concerns on the highways they are encouraged to report them using the free phone number 0800 4 HIGHWAYS.
