The NZ Transport Agency reminds drivers that there will be significant changes to driving conditions in Auckland over Easter.
Necessary works will close the Neilson Street/Gloucester Park Road southbound on-ramp to the Southwestern Motorway (State Highway 20) in Onehunga from 10pm on Thursday (28 March) until 6am next Tuesday (2 April). The on-ramp is used by many drivers to access Auckland International Airport, and people should allow more time to get their destination on time and safely.
At Waterview, Great North Road will be narrowed from two to one lane in each direction for essential works linked to the Waterview Connection tunnel project. The changed road layout will be in place from midnight on Thursday (28 March) until midnight on Easter Monday (1 April).
The NZTA also reminds drivers that traffic will be heavy at the Greenlane interchange on the Southern Motorway because of the Easter Show, which opens tomorrow (Thursday, 28 March) at the nearby ASB Showgrounds.
In Northland, the only temporary speed limit in place for the long weekend will be a 50km/h limit on SH14 at Tangowahine. All other state highways in the region will be clear.
