Changes on State Highway 1 near Rangiriri from this week

|

The NZ Transport Agency advises motorists to be aware of changes and drive with care on State Highway 1 (SH1) near Rangiriri this month, as work on the Waikato Expressway continues.

Stop/go traffic management will be in place from the Rangiriri Intersection to just south of Te Onetea Stream, from 6.30pm on Wednesday January 14 until 6am the following day, while contractors relocate the southbound safety barriers.

This work will mean from Thursday morning the merge lane coming out of Rangiriri to head south will be reduced to 100 metres. Traffic will be required to merge within that distance.

The current 80km speed restriction will remain in place.

The changes are to allow work on the new cul de sac at Rangiriri Road and on the project’s future southbound lanes.

The Transport Agency thanks motorists for their patience and understanding.
