Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency is closing the eastbound lane on a section of Cambridge Avenue in Ashhurst for two weeks in late April to carry out repair works.
The eastbound lane will be closed between the Cambridge Avenue rail bridge and roundabout from Tuesday 26 April to Tuesday 10 May betwen 7am and 5pm, excluding weekends.
The westbound lane will remain open with Stop/Go traffic management in place. There will be a signposted detour via Hillcrest Road to Mulgrave Street. There will be no access onto Cambridge Avenue from Hillary Crescent, York Street and Custom Street.
Motorists are advised there will be a delay in travelling times of between 5 and 10 minutes.
The work will involve repairing the surface and structure of Cambridge Avenue, which has been impacted by the volume of vehicles using this section of the road. The road will then be finished with a new waterproofing seal layer to keep water out.
In the event of bad weather, work will begin on the next fine day and will extend the programme.
