Urgent repairs to the Ruffe Creek Bridge, north of Springs Junction, State Highway 65, will add a 45 minute detour for drivers using the Lewis Pass/ Murchison route from this Sunday night.
The work will occur over up to four nights, 26-29 March, weather dependent. If the weather is dry, it could be completed over two nights.
State Highway 65 will be closed between Springs Junction and O’Sullivans Bridge, the junction with SH6, between 10 pm at night to 5 am in the morning.

The condition of Ruffe Creek single lane bridge, with the additional traffic on the Alternate Picton to Christchurch Lewis Pass/Murchison highway after the Kaikoura earthquakes, means it needs to be resealed before winter sets in.
