Heavy rain has had a significant impact on State Highways across the upper South Island and lower North Island today. As of 4pm Tuesday 12 July, the following routes are closed.

Contractors are making every effort to reopen these roads as soon as possible. Waka Kotahi will provide updates as soon as they are available.
Meanwhile, the bad weather has also affected all other State Highways across the lower North Island and upper South Island. While these connections are currently open, road users should be alert to the dangers of surface water, river levels, rockfalls, fallen trees, and slips.
Contractors are working hard to repair damaged roads, and traffic management will be in place in some areas. Drivers should factor this into their travel plans and be prepared for delays.
