Social media community guidelines

All comments and messages on our channels are subject to our moderation. These guidelines outline our expectations for people engaging with our channels and explain our approach to moderation.

We’re committed to ensuring our social media channels are places for constructive discussion and feedback. We welcome differences of opinion but not unconstructive negativity, or abusive attacks on us or other people. When commenting on our pages we expect people to:

  • be respectful of us and other people
  • be constructive in leaving feedback, criticism, or a differing opinion
  • stay on topic
  • follow the terms of service of the social media platform.

We determine what comments are appropriate for our channels. We’ll hide or delete comments if we don’t think it’s appropriate for the comments to be publicly visible. Commentary we don’t consider appropriate includes but isn’t limited to:

  • racist, sexist, or other bigoted language
  • profanity
  • bullying
  • violence
  • sexual references
  • advocacy for illegal behaviour
  • information that breaches people’s privacy
  • potentially defamatory language
  • misinformation or disinformation
  • spam
  • self-promotion
  • third-party links.

We won’t engage with unconstructive or abusive commentary.

We may block people who violate these rules. In most cases we’ll send people a warning before blocking them, but we’ll block people without warning in response to extremely inappropriate or abusive commentary.

Using our social media channels means you accept these terms.
