Making light work of streetlamps on SH51 at Awatoto

|

A stretch of the northbound lane of State Highway 51 at Awatoto, Napier will close for three nights later this month, for streetlight work.

3 streetlights to the side of the northbound lane by the new roundabout need to be raised to meet design and consenting requirements.

The work will take place between Friday 27 September and Sunday 29 September, from 8pm to 6am each night. The road will be open as normal at 6am Monday 30 September.

During the work, the northbound lane will be closed and a detour in place.

The southbound lane will remain open to traffic during this time. A temporary lower speed will be in place.

During the closure, northbound road users will be detoured left onto Waitangi Road, and right onto Awatoto Road before rejoining SH51.

NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi wishes to thank road users during this time.

In the event of bad weather, work may be rescheduled. Please keep up to date on NZTA’s Journey Planner.
