Nestled deep in the Manawatū-Whanganui region lies the small village of Halcombe. Situated between Fielding and Marton, the town once boasted a bustling rail service to provide residents with the surrounding towns.
Through the support of Hoe ki angitū, the NZTA Innovation Fund, locals and iwi are now looking at ways to revive the rail service through a high-tech digital twin model, showcasing technology that can help develop transport and infrastructure models all around Aotearoa, and the world.
