Upcoming State Highway 58 road/lane closures

We would like to advise drivers and regular users of State Highway 58 of several night-time road and lane closures happening over the next few weeks.

The Wellington Transport Alliance has planned asphalt resurfacing and essential maintenance between Postgate Drive and James Cook Drive on Sunday and Monday nights, 21-22 May, 9pm-4.30am, then between James Cook Drive and Joseph Banks Drive on Tuesday night, 23 May, 9pm-4.30am. 

IMPORTANT NOTE: The road will be closed in both directions for the above closures.

As part of the Te Aranui o Te Rangihaeata –Transmission Gully motorway project and the finishing works for Lanes Flat, there will also be lane closures between the Pāuatahanui roundabout and the SH58 interchange from Sunday 21 May for 18 nights.  For the first nine nights the westbound lane will be closed. The following nine nights will see the eastbound lane closed. Work will be ongoing from Sunday to Thursday nights, from 7pm-4am.  

Please detour via local roads and factor additional travel time into your journeys. 

These works are dependent on various factors and may be postponed at short notice.
